The Flag Policy.

I believe our primary responsibility is not to debate what is right or wrong to display, but rather to carefully consider what is truly in the best interest of all of our children—because they are what matter most.

I firmly believe that if we allow teachers and students to determine, on a case-by-case basis, which flags are acceptable, it could lead to increased tension, added pressure on educators, and feelings of exclusion among students who may not feel adequately represented. Our focus must remain on creating an inclusive, distraction-free learning environment that prioritizes education above all else.

To achieve this, I advocate for displaying only the flag that represents every student—the American flag. If students wish to express their personal beliefs or affiliations, they should have the freedom to do so through personal choices, such as their clothing. However, we should not grant any particular group the authority to speak on behalf of all, as this could introduce bias into our schools.

By fostering an environment centered on unity, respect, and academic excellence, we can ensure that every student feels valued and supported in their educational journey.

The Roof.

I understand that the roof is an important topic, especially given that the original budget allocation for its repair was miscalculated under the previous Superintendent. This kind of oversight is exactly where I feel I can step in to ensure that future budgeting is handled with accuracy and thoroughness, preventing similar issues down the road.

I support the override to address the immediate need. However, moving forward, it is critical that we do not propose future budgetary figures unless we are absolutely certain they are correct. Accountability and precision must be our priorities to maintain trust and fiscal responsibility.
